Seeking Justice, Preserving Memory, Uncovering Truth
In 2014, the Shaitat clan suffered one of the deadliest massacres in Syria. We are committed to documenting the truth, honoring the victims, and seeking justice for those responsible.
The Shaitat is a story of loss, resilience, and the pursuit of justice. Remembering the past is the first step toward a just future.
01
Once a thriving community along the Euphrates, the Shaitat clan was devastated by one of the worst massacres in Syria’s history. Families were torn apart, homes were destroyed, and mass graves remain a haunting reminder of this tragedy.
02
Despite the pain, the voices of survivors and the families of victims continue to seek justice. Through documentation, testimony, and collective memory, we strive to preserve the truth and honor those we lost.
What we do
We collect testimonies, uncover mass graves, and work with international organizations to ensure accountability for crimes against the Shaitat people.
ISIS started threatening to enter Kishkiyya, prompting locals to fight against them, including attacking their base in the Kishkiyya municipality building. In response, ISIS began arresting everybody involved.
