Introduction

We are a group of relatives of the victims of massacres, arbitrary detentions, enforced disappearances, and other violations committed by the so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS) in the towns and villages of the Shaitat clan in Deir ez-Zor province, Syria, between 2014 and 2018.

Our Mission     | Our four pillars     |
Our Mission     | Our four pillars     |
01

Uncovering the Fate of the Victims

We strive to locate undiscovered mass graves, support investigations by local and international authorities, and gather forensic evidence, oral histories, and testimonies from eyewitnesses. Through meticulous documentation, we aim to piece together the truth about what happened to our loved ones.

02

Holding Perpetrators Accountable

By preserving evidence and collaborating with judicial bodies, we work tirelessly to ensure those responsible for the massacre and related crimes face justice. We partner with human rights organizations to combat impunity and amplify the demands of victims’ families.

03

Strengthening Connections Among Families of the Missing

We foster a supportive community where families can share their grief, exchange information, and collaborate on strategies to seek justice and uncover the fate of the missing. Together, we stand stronger.

04

Preserving the Memory of ISIS Victims

We keep the stories of the victims alive, ensuring their suffering remains a focus of public discourse and justice processes. We advocate for their inclusion in the efforts of local and international human rights organizations and UN institutions.
